EOLL  Wins  In Semi Finals

15 Unanswered Runs Leave Union Park American Shell Shocked

The EOLL 9/10 All Stars had a slow start, but came back to light up the Union Park American All Stars in a 15-5 beating in 4 innings.    The EOLL All Stars got off to a slow start.  Our normally consistent pitcher struggled with a few hit batsman (hitting both in the head) coupled with, as some fans would describe, as a major league strike zone, the EOLL team was down 5-0 in the second inning.    However, our center fielder helped as our center fielder threw a laser from second base to home and  to a double play on a fly ball. Also, we had some solid infield play to keep the game close.

However,  our EOLL team starting hitting lots of foul balls and drove up the pitch count on the opposing lefty pitcher.  As the Union Park pitcher began to tire, our bats came to life.  We starting hitting line drives and stealing the bases relentlessly. “What was rewarding is the play we made early in the the third inning, said Coach Rich. “We got into a pickle situation and the play lasted long enough for our runner to score.   We worked on that exact play the day before at practice. That was the first run and the boys really started pounding the ball.”

Once the pitch count got to 75, the Union Park team brought in their relief and our boys really smashed the ball.  There were at least 3 doubles and one triple.  With a man on, Michael came up to bat and blasted the first pitch  over the center field fence.  Once the ball made contact with the bat, there was no mistake that Michael’s ball was launched into the stratosphere.

The EOLL 9/10 All Stars now get the match up they wanted against Maitland for the championship game !
