EOLL vs Maitland

First Inning Set Back Too Much For EOLL 9/10 To Overcome

On Saturday's game, the EOLL All Stars faced a strong Maitland team.  Maitland traditional brings good teams to the tournaments - in fact, last year they lost to the EOLL in the District 24 championship.  We expected a tough match up.

Maitland, to their credit, did come out swinging with a six run first inning on a combination of walks, a home run, and a few errors on EOLL side.  Despite the 6 run lead, our boys did not give up.

Over the next two innings, the EOLL team put together two more runs.  Unfortunately, a few breaks on the basepaths did not go our way.  In addition,  at one point, in the 4th, 5th, and 6th inning, every kid popped out.

"We did not play our best game today. I have to give credit to Maitland for coming out strong, but we made some mistakes on our side.  Should we get a chance to play this team again, they won't see the same team they saw today," said Coach Rich in the post game press conference.
