Wolves vs Synergy

The Avalon Park Wolves headed to the north Lake County for a rematch against the Synergy.  While we were greeted with rather cold weather, the Avalon Park Wolves came ready to play.   In the first game, the Wolves lost a close one 7-6 in a game many felt the Wolves should have won.  The Wolves played solid baseball on offense and defense, but our pitching struggled getting the ball into strike zone and allowed a few too many walks.

In the second game, the Wolves played a solid effort with excellent pitching, fielding, and especially base running.  In a classic case of small ball, the Wolves won 4-1 and were in control of the game the entire time. “We really pushed our runners to get around the bases,”said Coach Tim Beamer in a post game interview.  “We got a runner on, moved him over, and got the type of hits we needed to score runners.”

The Wolves left satisfied that they are getting better every week and will soon be ready for tournament play.
